Throwing stones at the river
my 7 year old nephew asked me
“Where are these ripples going to ?”
Stumped, I thought awhile and
said, “Home. That’s why they are so happy.”
~
Home can be your family
or your friend
or that one person who bring out the child in you
or it can be the palpable solitude
of your bedroom in a city full of familiar strangers.
~
Home is the safe space,
where you can give up
, be sad, cry and still make it through.
Home is where you can dance naked
and so can your soul.
~
If you can think of one,
no matter what, hold on to it –
it will be the light you bring
to all your darkness !
And there will be, many.

“Home is where you can dance naked” – that is a great line. The image of ripples and the question at the beginning are also an interesting way in to the poem. Enjoyed it.
