barbecue by the beach,
heart shaped fireworks,
cheap gas station beers,
a nameless card game
~
an old man with tanned loose skin
surfing into the sunset,
a little kid filling plastic bottles
with barbecue smoke.
~
burning sun
trapped between
the horizon and the
sprawling banyan arms.
~
happiness is cheaper than dirt,
happiness has no depth, there is no reflection
involved. happiness is child’s play;
only, we have grown up a bit too much.
~
and we see the world as it is
and not as it could be,
and that is sadder
than the setting sun.
