There is a fisherman in my throat

baiting emotions

with memories

from the sea of my heart.

He tosses them in to

my head, where they wriggle

gasping for attention.

With their tails flip – flapping

and their fins closing up ;

anger, dismay and disgust,

each approximately 2 pounds

whisper to me in mer – words

things incomprehensible to me.

He then takes the fish up

to my head and tosses them

into a pan, deep frying

the aroma all over my blood stream –

overwhelming infusion of

anger, dismay and disgust.

And then, with a smile

he offers the fish to me and says

“Eat it-

it is good for you”
